The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona LX Elite is Brooklyn Bedding's most advanced mattress -- the flagship of the Sedona lineup and the only mattress they build with dual microcoil layers sandwiching a full 2" of natural Talalay latex. At 15" tall with nine layers, the LX Elite pairs ThermoPhase® phase-change material and a copper-infused GlacioTex™ cover with a construction unlike anything else in the Brooklyn Bedding lineup: two separately wrapped microcoil layers above and below the Talalay latex comfort layer, creating a triple-coil effect that provides outstanding airflow, responsive pressure relief, and superior motion isolation simultaneously.

Available in Soft, Medium, and Firm -- we carry the Firm in our showroom. For back and stomach sleepers who want the best cooling, support, and ease of movement that Brooklyn Bedding makes, and for hot sleepers who want natural Talalay latex breathability layered into an active dual cooling system, the Sedona LX Elite is the definitive answer.

MEET THE BROOKLYN SEDONA LX ELITE MATTRESS

Firmness, Construction, and Performance

At The Drift, we take mattresses (and your sleep) seriously. That starts with what your bed is made of and how that translates to its feel and durability. Let's dive in.

Feel & Firmness

  • Firmness Level: Available in Soft, Medium, and Firm. We carry the Firm in our showroom, with the Talalay latex at 36 ILD -- a firm, buoyant resistance that feels distinctly different from firm memory foam. The Soft uses a softer latex ILD; the Medium uses 28 ILD. All three deliver natural latex's responsive, bouncy character at different levels of surface resistance.
  • Feel Description: The Sedona LX Elite's feel is unlike anything else in the Brooklyn Bedding lineup. The GlacioTexâ„¢ cover is immediately cool to the touch. The ThermoPhase PCM foam beneath it adds active thermal management. Then the first microcoil layer begins adapting to the body before the 2" Talalay latex delivers the defining character of this mattress: a buoyant, springy lift that pushes back with immediate responsiveness rather than the slow, enveloping sink of memory foam. The second microcoil layer below the latex adds further adaptive support and airflow before the 1200 Series coil base provides deep structural reinforcement. The overall character in the Firm is cool, responsive, and deeply supportive -- a mattress that holds you up and responds immediately to every movement.
  • Our Take: The Sedona LX Elite's ratings profile is defined by its exceptional scores in cooling, support, and ease of movement -- all reflecting what the unique construction achieves. Cooling at 10.0 is the combination of GlacioTexâ„¢ copper fibers, ThermoPhase PCM, Talalay latex's open-cell breathability, and dual microcoil airflow operating simultaneously across five thermal pathways. Support at 10.0 and ease of movement at 9.5 reflect what a firm Talalay latex layer sandwiched between dual microcoils produces: immediate pushback, effortless repositioning, and deep structural reinforcement. Pressure relief at 7.5 is the honest trade-off of a firm latex surface -- the LX Elite is built for support and responsiveness, not for deep contouring. For the right sleeper in the Firm, that's exactly the right trade.

Construction & Materials

Height: 15"

Design: Triple-coil latex hybrid. Brooklyn Bedding's most advanced mattress. Dual microcoil layers sandwich 2" natural Talalay latex. GlacioTex™ cooling cover with copper fibers standard. Soft (Talalay), Medium (28 ILD Talalay), and Firm (36 ILD Talalay) available. We carry the Firm in our showroom. GREENGUARD Gold Certified, CertiPUR-US® certified.

Layer Breakdown (Firm):

  1. GlacioTexâ„¢ Cooling Cover (copper-infused fibers): Cool tech fibers paired with copper-infused fibers remove excess heat and add antimicrobial protection at the sleep surface. Copper gusset side panels also draw heat away from the mattress edges, replacing the standard Sedona's mesh spacer gusset with a copper-based thermal management panel.
  2. ThermoPhase® PCM Foam (0.75"): Phase Change Material infused into the foam that actively absorbs and releases body heat throughout the night's thermal cycles -- sustaining cooling rather than just removing it at the surface.
  3. Quilt Foam (1"): Moisture-wicking breathable quilt foam providing surface comfort and body impression resistance.
  4. Microcoil Layer -- First (0.75"): The first of two individually wrapped microcoil layers. Positioned above the Talalay latex, it provides immediate adaptive surface response and the first dedicated airflow channel through the comfort system. Creates a secondary pressure point that cushions the body before it reaches the latex.
  5. Natural Talalay Latex (2", 36 ILD for Firm): The defining layer of the LX Elite and the most distinctive material in the Sedona lineup. Two full inches of natural Talalay latex at 36 ILD for the Firm -- double the depth of standard latex comfort layers in most hybrid mattresses. Talalay's open-cell structure allows air to flow freely throughout the layer, its buoyant character provides immediate responsive pushback, and its natural composition avoids the heat retention associated with synthetic foams. The ILD (Indentation Load Deflection) of 36 gives the Firm its structured, supportive character.
  6. Microcoil Layer -- Second (0.75"): The second individually wrapped microcoil layer, positioned below the Talalay latex. Together with the first microcoil layer, it sandwiches the latex for a dual-microcoil structure that provides adaptive support both above and below the primary comfort material -- an engineering approach unique to the Sedona LX Elite in the Brooklyn Bedding lineup.
  7. VariFlex Transition Foam (0.75"): A responsive transition layer between the dual microcoil/latex comfort system and the 1200 Series coil base, distributing weight evenly.
  8. Foam-Encased 1200 Series Coil System (8"): Individually wrapped, foam-encased zoned coils with targeted lumbar support and reinforced edge-to-edge stability. The zoned construction is the foundation of the 10.0 support score.
  9. Supportive Base Foam (1"): Foundational support layer that stabilizes the triple-coil system for long-term structural integrity.

Why It Matters: The Sedona LX Elite's dual microcoil construction sandwiching Talalay latex is the specific engineering choice that drives its exceptional scores. The first microcoil layer creates an adaptive cushioning interface before the latex. The latex provides the primary comfort and thermal management. The second microcoil layer creates a second adaptive support interface below the latex. Each of the three coil-system elements does targeted work. Combined with ThermoPhase PCM and the copper-infused GlacioTexâ„¢ cover, the result is a mattress with five simultaneous thermal pathways and a comfort system that responds instantly to body weight from two directions simultaneously.

Our Ratings & Advice

We've tested over 1,000 mattresses in the last 10 years and helped serve better sleep to over 1 million shoppers. Our ratings are born out of lab-based testing and real world evaluations.

Performance Breakdown

CategoryOur RatingSummary
Pressure Relief7.5 / 10Good for a firm latex hybrid. The first microcoil layer and 2" Talalay latex provide solid pressure cushioning in the Firm, though the buoyant, responsive character of latex at 36 ILD means less deep contouring than memory foam alternatives at this firmness. Side sleepers who need deep shoulder and hip contouring should compare the Sedona Elite's Medium. Back and stomach sleepers will find the 7.5 more than adequate given the outstanding support below.
Cooling10 / 10The maximum score we give. Five simultaneous cooling mechanisms: copper-infused GlacioTexâ„¢ cover, copper side gusset, ThermoPhase PCM foam, Talalay latex's natural open-cell breathability, and dual microcoil airflow channels. The most thermally comprehensive mattress we carry.
Support10 / 10The maximum score we give. The Firm Talalay latex, dual microcoil system, and zoned 1200 Series foam-encased coils together provide the strongest structural support in our showroom. Outstanding for back and stomach sleepers who need a firm, non-compressing sleep surface.
Motion Isolation8 / 10Very good for a triple-coil latex hybrid. The dual microcoil layers absorb partner movement at two levels before it reaches the 1200 Series coil base. Better motion isolation than most latex hybrids achieve, reflecting what the sandwiched dual microcoil construction provides over a single-coil alternative.
Edge Support9.5/ 10Outstanding -- one of the highest edge support scores we give. The firm Talalay latex at 36 ILD, dual microcoil system, and foam-encased coil perimeter together produce exceptional edge stability across the full mattress surface. The firm construction compresses minimally at the perimeter.
Ease of Movement9.5 / 10Excellent. Natural Talalay latex's immediate buoyant rebound, amplified by dual microcoil response above and below, makes repositioning completely effortless in the Firm. One of the highest ease-of-movement scores we give any mattress in our showroom -- the direct result of latex's natural character at its firmest calibration.

Sleep Position Ratings

Limited for most side sleepers. The Firm's 7.5 pressure relief score and firm latex surface create significant shoulder and hip pressure at most body weights. Side sleepers should compare the Soft or Medium option, or consider the Sedona Elite for deeper contouring at a similar tier.

Outstanding -- the strongest primary use case for this mattress in the Firm. The 10.0 support score, firm Talalay latex, and zoned coil system provide exceptional lumbar alignment and spinal support for back sleepers at average to heavier body weights. One of the best back-sleeping options we carry at any price.

Outstanding for average-weight stomach sleepers. The firm Talalay latex and 10.0 support score keep hips level and the spine aligned with the immediate responsiveness that latex provides over the slow recovery of memory foam.

Outstanding for those who primarily move between back and stomach positions. The 9.5 ease-of-movement score makes repositioning effortless. Combination sleepers who shift frequently into side sleeping should test the Soft or Medium and compare against the Sedona Elite.

Final Verdict

The Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite is a well-rounded luxury hybrid with an exceptional cooling score and consistent performance across every category we measure. It doesn't make big trade-offs to hit its strengths: pressure relief, support, motion isolation, edge support, and ease of movement are all solid. For back sleepers, side sleepers, and combination sleepers who want premium materials, genuine all-night cooling, and a responsive medium feel, it's one of the easiest recommendations we make.

Best For

  • ✓ Back and stomach sleepers who want the maximum cooling and support scores available from Brooklyn Bedding
  • ✓ Hot sleepers who want natural Talalay latex breathability alongside active ThermoPhase PCM cooling
  • ✓ Combination sleepers who want effortless repositioning from dual microcoil latex responsiveness
  • ✓ Those who have specifically sought out natural latex in a premium hybrid construction
  • ✓ Sleepers who want the most advanced mattress Brooklyn Bedding makes without compromise

Not Ideal For

  • ✗ Side sleepers in the Firm -- the firm latex creates too much shoulder and hip pressure for most; compare the Soft or Medium
  • ✗ Sleepers who prefer the deep, enveloping feel of memory foam over latex's buoyant pushback
  • ✗ Those with latex allergies -- consult a medical provider before purchasing
  • ✗ Shoppers who want deep pressure contouring above structural support and cooling
