The Drift is a Seattle mattress showroom where you can lie down on top direct-to-consumer brands like Helix, WinkBeds, Nectar, and Brooklyn Bedding before you buy. We offer a price-match guarantee against local and online competitors, and our team has years of hands-on sleep product research behind every recommendation.

Which mattress brands can I try in person at The Drift?

Our Seattle showroom carries Helix, Birch, WinkBeds, Nectar, DreamCloud, Leesa, Brooklyn Bedding, Bear, Nolah, and Nest Bedding, along with adjustable bases and sleep accessories. Every model is set up so you can compare firmness and feel side by side.

Where is The Drift mattress showroom located?

The Drift is located near Lower Queen Anne, easy to reach from Belltown, South Lake Union, Magnolia, and Interbay. Walk-ins are always welcome, and you can also book a one-on-one consultation with our mattress concierge.

Does The Drift price match online mattress prices?

Yes. The Drift offers a price-match guarantee, matching local and online competitor pricing, so trying a mattress in person never costs you more than buying it sight unseen.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No appointment is required and walk-ins are always welcome. Booking a free consultation with our mattress concierge ahead of time gets you one-on-one guidance suited to how you sleep.

What is the trial period on a mattress from The Drift?

Most mattresses purchased at The Drift include a 120-night in-home trial, so you can sleep on it in your own bedroom before deciding it's the one. A few brands run their own trial terms directly, so ask our team about the specifics for the model you're considering.

HSA and FSA FAQs

Truemed is for qualified customers. HSA/FSA tax savings vary. Learn more at truemed.com/disclosures.

What are HSAs and FSAs?

A Health Savings Account (HSA) and a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) let you set aside money before taxes to pay for qualified medical expenses. An HSA is paired with an HSA-eligible high-deductible health plan. The money is yours to keep: it rolls over from year to year and stays with you if you change jobs. An FSA is offered through your employer. You choose how much to contribute during open enrollment, and the funds generally need to be used within the plan year. Some employers offer a short grace period or let a limited amount carry over. Not sure what you have? Your HR team or benefits administrator can tell you.

Who can use an HSA or FSA?

Both are US tax-advantaged accounts. You can contribute to an HSA if you're covered by an HSA-eligible high-deductible health plan, whether it comes through an employer or you buy it yourself, so self-employed people can qualify. FSAs are only available through an employer, so self-employed people generally don't have one.

How does paying with HSA/FSA funds save me money?

The money in these accounts isn't taxed as income. When you use HSA/FSA dollars on a qualified purchase, you're paying with money that was never taxed, so it goes further than your regular take-home pay. How much you save depends on your tax situation.

What is Truemed?

Truemed is a third-party service that helps qualified customers use HSA/FSA funds on eligible products. When you choose Truemed at checkout, you'll answer a short health survey. A licensed provider in Truemed's network reviews your answers. If the product can help treat, manage, or prevent a diagnosed health condition, the provider issues a Letter of Medical Necessity.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN)?

An LMN is a document from a licensed provider stating that a product is medically necessary for a diagnosed condition. Many HSA/FSA administrators require one before they'll approve items like mattresses, which aren't automatically eligible. Each LMN covers the specific product and retailer it was issued for, and it's valid for one year.

How long does it take to get my LMN?

Usually within 48 hours of completing the survey. Your LMN will be in your Truemed dashboard. Sign in at truemed.com using the email you used for the survey. If it's been more than 48 hours and you don't see it, email support@truemed.com.

What happens if I'm not approved?

Truemed will notify you by email. For questions about your eligibility, contact support@truemed.com.

I don't live in the US. Can I use Truemed?

Not at this time. Truemed, HSAs, and FSAs are only available in the United States.

My HSA/FSA balance won't cover the full purchase. Can I still use it?

Yes. At checkout, you can split the payment between your HSA/FSA card and a regular credit or debit card, and choose how much goes on each.

What if my HSA/FSA administrator rejects my claim?

Email support@truemed.com and they'll help you sort it out. Some administrators require their own forms, and the fix is often as simple as reissuing your LMN on the administrator's form.

Does the sleep trial still apply if I pay with HSA/FSA funds?

Yes. Paying with HSA/FSA funds doesn't change your sleep trial or return eligibility. If you return a mattress bought through us with HSA/FSA funds, your refund will be issued directly back to your HSA/FSA account.
