MEET THE GRAVITYLUX MATTRESS

Firmness, Construction, and Performance

At The Drift, we take mattresses (and your sleep) seriously. That starts with what your bed is made of and how that translates to its feel and durability. Let's dive in.

Feel & Firmness

  • Firmness Level:  Varies by model (Soft 4/10, Medium 6/10, Firm 8/10) on the manufacturer’s scale.
  • Feel Description: You’ll feel memory-foam style contouring near the surface, but underneath there’s a firmer "push-back" layer that prevents too much sink. Some reviewers describe it as "plush top, firm base" with moderate sink and strong support.
  • Our Take: This mattress offers a balanced experience: good wrap and pressure relief, but with a firmer base that keeps you "on" rather than deeply "in" the mattress. For sleepers who value motion deadening and movement ease, this is a strong pick - just ensure the surface feel matches your comfort preference.

Construction & Materials

Height: Approximately 11"-13.5″.
Design: All-foam build (no coils) with multiple specialized layers for contour, support, and cooling.

Layer Breakdown:

  1. Cover: TENCEL®-type breathable knit covering for comfort and airflow.
  2. Comfort Layers: Gel-infused memory foam + "AirCell" foam (open-celled) to improve cooling and contouring.
  3. Support/Transition Layers: Progression™ foam and Atlas Core™ high-density foam provide zoned support for lumbar and hips.
  4. Base/Foundation Layer: High-density foam giving durability and preventing sag.

Why It Matters: The all-foam design gives exceptional motion isolation and a smooth feel, while the firm core supports proper alignment. For sleepers who prioritize partner quiet, quick repositioning, and a stable surface, this build hits the mark.

Sleep Position Ratings

Good. The contouring is solid, but if you love deep “hug,” the feel might be firmer than ultra-plush feel-seekers prefer.

Very good. Support and alignment are well-handled here; the mattress keeps your spine relatively neutral.

Moderate. Might be okay for lighter sleepers, but heavier stomach sleepers requiring high firmness may want to test for hip sink.

Strong. The low motion transfer and supportive surface make transitions smooth, though the feel is a bit slower than spring/latex models for movement ease.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for an all-foam mattress that delivers top-tier motion isolation, solid support, and a quieter, stable sleep surface, the WinkBeds GravityLux is a strong candidate - particularly for couples, back sleepers, or those with partner motion issues. Its slight trade-offs lie in less cooling efficiency than some hybrids and a slower surface feel for movement.

Best For

  • Couples who want excellent motion control
  • Back sleepers who like foam feel but still need support
  • Sleepers who want a quiet, "sealed-in" feel rather than a bounce
  • Anyone wanting a mattress with strong durability and a lifetime warranty

Not Ideal For

  • Side sleepers who prefer deep plush hug and heavy contouring
  • Sleepers who change positions often and prefer very quick surface responsiveness
  • Hot sleepers who need top-tier cooling (may want an airy hybrid instead)
  • Stomach sleepers requiring very firm surfaces and maximum hip lift

Why Shop Local?

Try Before You Buy — Right Here in Seattle

Visit our Seattle mattress showroom to experience the WinkBeds GravityLux up close. Our team will:

  • Walk you through which firmness level (Soft / Medium / Firm) fits your body type and comfort preference.
  • Compare it side-by-side with hybrid and foam alternatives so you can feel differences in contouring, support, and feel.

Shopping locally gives you the confidence of testing the mattress on your body, asking questions face-to-face, and getting full service support - something an online purchase can't always guarantee.

Bring a Pillow

Bring your usual pillow and lie in your go-to position for at least 10-15 minutes. Your body will tell you what you need to know.

Bring Your Partner

Shopping as a couple? Have one partner lie still while the other shifts to test motion transfer and partner disturbance.

Check the Edge

Sit on the edge to test edge support and feel how stable it is for reading, lounging, or getting up at night.

Check the Height

Taller mattresses need deeper fitted sheets and more bed frame clearance. Our staff can help you think through compatibility before you buy.
